In contrast with many cancers, uterine cancer incidence and mortality are on the rise. The disease, which is a leading cause of death among gynecologic cancers in the United States, is also associated with deep racial disparities, disproportionately affecting Black women. Elizabeth M. Swisher, MD, the 2026-2028 Chair of the AACR Cancer Prevention Working Group (CPWG) steering committee, discussed risk factors, warning signs, and the urgent need for increased public awareness and research funding.
